About Manny's Recycling
A free service for the Blockhouse Bay community, run by locals who care.
How We Started
Manny's Recycling began with a simple frustration: doing the right thing with your household waste was harder than it should be. Local recycling services were limited, drop-off hours were inconvenient, and too much reusable material was ending up in landfills.
So we decided to fix it. With support from neighbours and friends, we set up a kerbside drop-off point at 53A Donovan Street – just pull up to the stone wall, drop whatever you want gone, and drive away. Open to everyone, all day, every day, completely free.
Since opening, we've helped hundreds of Blockhouse Bay households keep tonnes of recyclable material out of landfill. No paperwork, no fees, no bins – just kerbside drop-off.
Where Your Recycling Goes
Everything you drop off is sorted by hand and sent to the right place: paper and cardboard to pulping mills, glass to crushing facilities, metals to smelters, plastics to reprocessing plants, and electronics to certified e-waste recyclers.
Nothing goes to landfill unless it has to. We work with established recycling partners across Auckland who share our commitment to keeping waste out of the ground.
Community Impact
We're not a business – we're a community service. Every bag of recycling dropped off is one less in landfill, and every local resident who uses us makes Blockhouse Bay a little cleaner.
Free Forever
We will never charge for drop-off. This is a community service, not a business.
Always Open
No appointments, no time restrictions. Drop off whenever it suits you.
No Exceptions
If it's household recycling, we take it. No complicated rules or rejections.
